Surplus signals time for NSW Government to cut stamp duty

NSW Treasurer Mike Baird released the final Budget result for 2012-13 of a$ 239 million fat, on Tuesday, 29 October.

Mr Baird observed advanced than estimated earnings, including stamp duty collections which contributed advanced bills of around$ 198 million, as the main reasons for the enhancement.

REINSW President Christian Payne said the part that Real Estate has played in the fat should be recognised.

“ The Sydney casing request has blessed the NSW government a$ 198 million benediction, allowing it to creep back into fat.
“ It’s now time for the state government to honor that stamp duty rates should be cut. For too long it has served from families, youthful people and the senior who are trying to put a roof over their head.

“ The Australian dream isn’t attainable for numerous and the NSW Government needs to understand and accept that Real Estate shouldn’t be the major source of its backing,
