Tweeting the cause of the cause of the cause, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia said: “Passenger safety is the most important. Even the smallest mistake that hinders safety will be thoroughly investigated & corrected with courses”.

Pointing to some examples of spicejet aircraft that returned to their home station or landed at the destination with degraded safety margins, DGCA, in his notification, said this was because of “poor internal safety supervision and inadequate maintenance actions”.

The Indian aviation sector regulator said in accordance with the financial assessment carried out by him in September 2021, Spicejet had used ‘cash and carried the system’ by the vendor because they were not paid regularly which resulted in shortage of spare parts. This has given three weeks to Spicejet to respond to why action should not be taken to him.
